Carney_Gulag_Kit

It is beyond imagination that anyone could misconstrue the Soviet agitprop in Jay Carney's kitchen as an indication that White House Press Secretary Jay Carney and his wife somehow share the same ideas as the perpetrators of a brutal regime that starved its own citizens while the political elites lived in luxury, abused power, prosecuted the opposition, and ruled the country by means of executive orders.

Next, they would claim that that a neat stack of Chairman Mao's Little Red Books in Valery Jarrett's bathroom is not there merely to serve as an elegant accent to complement the shower curtains; or that the Black Panther Party insignia on Michelle Obama's pajamas isn't merely a bold decorative pattern; or that the black flag of holy Jihad in Huma Abedin's bedroom is somehow indicative of her sympathies towards the Muslim Brotherhood.

Following such flawed right-wing logic, one might even speculate that Saul Alinsky's books on Hillary Clinton's living room mean anything other than an effort to disguise an obscure dried spot that had mysteriously appeared on the coffee table in the last year of her husband's presidency.

Possibly, if her name is Oleg Atbashian.

The original source appears to be "The People's Cube (http://thepeoplescube.com/peoples-blog/the-real-meaning-of-soviet-agitprop-in-jay-carney-s-kitchen-t13853.html)" and or "Pyjamas Media", neither of which is "some women's magazine". And, really, wow, that site is so, uh, something. Let's put it this way: It makes Pyjamas Media look rational and well-written.

I'll take your word for it. I'm afraid to click such a strange link.

If you mean the link you posted, yeah, no. The image and text in the op is not on that page.

It is, however, at the site [Bad username or site: theweaselking: @ livejournal.com] posted.

What's not to like about their humor?

Wow, that is some hardcore righty stuff alright.

It reminds one why we are so polarized and seem
to live in different universes with our own realities.

Because we do!

Right wing humor seems to be based on how mean-spirited they can be.

No I haven't, please share!

Sandra Fluke testified before Congress that hormonal birth control should be included in health care coverage. For that, she's been called a slut and a whore constantly, from Rush Limbaugh and misogynists on the right.

And yes, there were some shitty and sexist things said about Sarah Palin. The difference is volume. That stuff is a blip on the left whereas it seems to be a feature on the right. Lets not forget the constant and ongoing disrespect leveled towards President Obama.

Ok I won't ask you for evidence. XD

- Letterman was joking about Palin's actual daughter who actually got pregnant out of actual wedlock, and was mistaken in thinking that daughter was the daughter who was with Palin. Dumb joke, yes, but meant to be about someone who was underage.

- Bill Maher is a libertarian.

- Schultz apologized. Schultz offered to suspend himself without pay, and did so.

Wake me when it becomes the hate industry that is the segment of vitriol dedicated to Hillary Clinton over the last 20 years. There could be sections in the book stores for anti Hillary books since 1992.

It's there. I decided to live dangerously and click on it, lol!

Thanks for doing the legwork on the source. Nice to see someone values credibility.

[identity profile] yes-justice.livejournal.com 2014-04-19 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
So full of shit.

[identity profile] cinnamontoast.livejournal.com 2014-04-19 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
No. It's the credibility of the artist and the writer that people take seriously - Even if it's the credibility of the 'hive mind' with a meme, which are usually made obvious by structure or a website link at the bottom. That's what people take seriously. You posted this without a source so it appeared that you wrote the text. You didn't. Then you refused to source it when asked, several times. That's plagiarism and it damages your credibility in the future.

So, no. It's not about "us". It's about your credibility.

No one is going to call the Internet Police to backtrace you, so you won't need your Internet Lawyer.

[identity profile] moonshaz.livejournal.com 2014-04-19 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose your lawyer might have some advice, but if you consult your "layer," she'll probably just say something like, "Cluck, cluck, cluck."

Sorry, cheap shot, but I couldn't resist after reading the nonsense in this post! :-D
