Sadly, the Huff Po has gotten quite fake of late in the realm of alternative medicine.

Quick quiz: What do you call alternative medicine that works?

A: Medicine.

my thoughts as well.

Agreed. HuffPo's slide into quackery in its health coverage has made me more suspicious of its coverage site-wide.

Agreed, there has been a surplus of complete and utter bullshit on HuffPo recently, and not just in medicine.

And all have a political bias. That is also important to realize.

Yep, and the "gross out" stories too.

[identity profile] peristaltor.livejournal.com 2013-08-04 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, that's where I got it. Nailed!

[identity profile] peristaltor.livejournal.com 2013-08-04 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I think we can all agree that there should be a difference between "political bias" and "outright agenda-driven mission."

[identity profile] brother-dour.livejournal.com 2013-08-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
The only difference is a matter of degrees.

The difference between whether or not your skin is boiling off is a matter of degrees.

Excellent taste!

theres having a bias and then there is the rejection of facts in favor of whatever pet theory is of non-facts will get the highest ratings.....

i dont mind Foxs bias, I mind their lies

[identity profile] brother-dour.livejournal.com 2013-08-04 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I understand what you're saying but what UI'm saying is I refuse to settle for 'a little bias'. It's either 'zero bias in journalism or GTFO' in my book.

*polite applause*

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2013-08-07 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
there's no way to get zero bias.

[identity profile] brother-dour.livejournal.com 2013-08-08 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Sure there is. It's quite simple, actually:

Step 1: Report the facts and only the facts as they are known
Step 2: Keep personal opinions and thoughts to yourself when engaged in #1.

I think what is moire accurate is to say, "there's no way to get zero bias when ratings are involved"
