I'm pretty sure there isn't a real Randian argument for ANY marriage.

So they either have to choose between allowing no marriage at all or gay marriage. I assumed that the first one wouldn't be an option for any good Christian so I thought they'd go straight to the second part.

I'm aware of that. I was more thinking about Glenn Beck. He's a Mormon (at least that's what Wikipedia says)

It was a joke. I just thought that it was funny how they want to build some sort of conservative utopia based on the works of a person who had some very unconversative views (for example about religion, family and personal freedom)

That's nice to hear. The last time I noticed him discussing anything to do with gay rights, he was comparing it to incest between brothers and sisters. It is good that even Glenn Beck is capable of evolving.

In December last year he decided that the government should get out of the marriage business.

In January last year he said "I have exactly the same opinion on gay marriage that President Obama has, unless he's lying." Beck said that while he didn't believe in same-sex marriage, he did believe in civil unions for gay couples. So he has not been in favour of gay marriage ever and has only been in favour of equal status for about three months.

And the slippery slope thing, by the way? It's a key reason why I support gay marriage. I want the dominoes to fall.
