Compromise should never be an ideal or end in itself, as you seem to consider it.
*shrugs* Then don't compromise. You only have to live with the other people. If you think you'll live with them better by ordering them to be obedient to your dictates rather than compromising, have at it. I don't think you'll have the success you desire.
