Because the differences between reps and dems are marginal at best. What both parties really give a shit about is getting and keeping power. Toward this end, they'll flip-flop, lie, and be complete hypocrites if that's what it takes to create an illusion of holding opposing political principles and polices. The truth is that both parties are beholden to the plutocrats.
