Rotten Tomatoes gives Al Gore's movie a 93 (professional reviews) and 75 by those that saw it in the theater. The Wall Street Journal gave an "Inconvenient Truth" a great review, despite some questions about "facts."

I doubt the director really feels the need to improve his mastery of the craft. He doesn't need to. He has a ready made audience who will watch the movie (probably multiple times) regardless of whether it's a quality movie or a stupid piece of crap. It's like the Twilight movies, it's critic-proof. The people who will go see it will see it because they want to support Palin and stick it to the "lamestream media", they don't care how good the movie is.
