Sarah Palin documentary

One reviewer commented:

"This Sarah Palin hosanna is done in by the simple fact that its director needs to go back to film school." Robert Levin of the Atlantic.

More than you'd expect

Birth of a Nation got %100

Can't argue against bias on that. All of the reviewers acknowledge it's racism but can't argue against it's cinematography.

Triumph of the Will got 94%

You can't get more right-winged...

Despite it's content it actually has some very artfully well-done shots in it.

When?

Just was trying to find some infamously well-made propaganda films to see if there was any bias. I've also listed Birth of a Nation, which got %100. It glamorizes the KKK, it also kicked off the film industry.

Oh and here's one thing nobody can say:

Obama made a film about himself.

Oh and consider this

"Whatever you think of her, Palin deserves a better documentary than this"
- Robert Levin

Birth of a Nation got 100% (you're not supposed to be able to bust on DW Griffith, no matter how cartoonish the characters (yes, I have watched it), Primary Colors got 80%, Hillary the Movie was not rated/reviewed...

[identity profile] rimpala.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Neither was The Eternal Jew, it's only review is the closest I've come to a biased one.

Pretty justified though, the implications of the film is pretty hard to look past.

Hey that's the reason I saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus!

Perhaps, but most people don't plan on voting for their fav actor for Pres. (And Palin will not admit to being an actor). Also, seeing her movie signals the likelihood that someone wishes to put a sociopath in the White House, while seeing Tom Hanks latest movie just means you like his acting.

Some key differences:

To my knowledge Michael Moore never made a movie about Michael Moore, and as much as Gore's movie ended up being about him, it's main subject of course... the one everyone walks away with agreement or not... was global warming.

[identity profile] rimpala.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh and Triumph of the Will was the one propaganda film that comes to mind when I think of movies made to be about politicians by politicians. The film was made by the Nazis to glorify Nazis, Hitler IS the Nazi party. Michael Moore movies are never about Michael Moore.

Wow that's kind of bushido-like!

My mind... is blown

[identity profile] rimpala.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
It happened, and I've lost myself in reading the reviews, many seem to criticize the film for the film maker then the subject. From what I read it's not a good documentary because it doesn't bring forth enough information, and it's not good propaganda because it's poor film-making fails to persuade the audience even emotionally.

Probably screened in swing states, no need to preach to the choir.

When they develop a sense of self.

Everything I need to know about twilight:

Kinda works the same for Harry Potter or Disney. Always bank on "downtrodden has superneat adventure".

Probably one of my favorite "Kung Fu" flicks. It's very pretty to watch at least.

Didn't Ron Jeremy? Or am I thinking of Dirk Diggler?

They're going to expand due to the success of last weekend.
