It's like Michael Vick is, like, white, and old, and instead of dogfighting he abuses children! So can we expect these cartoons throughout the day now as well?
It's funny because "Hollywood" (aka: some Random famous people who make movies) don't want some dude to go to jail, thus anything else advocated by anyone famous via movies is somehow tarnished.
Not everyone in Hollywood supports him. There are a few who haven't. Luc Besson is the first to come to mind, but I know he's not the only one.
And he doesn't deserve anyone's support. He may be a genius, but the fact that he's a rapist doesn't make it mutually exclusive.
Would they be protesting like this if he'd killed someone and then plea bargained down and fled the country to avoid going to jail for the lesser charge?
I firmly believe Roman Polanski should be in jail. Granted the girl, who is now a woman, wants charges dropped. I don't care if they get him on the rape charge anymore, for the woman's sake, but it doesn't change the fact that he fled the country, and that's fucking illegal.
1) Polanski should have been pursued when this was a more pertinent issue
2) I could give a flying fuck what those fucking creeps in Hollywood think, and by "fucking creeps" I mean both the idiot liberals and the fucking freak insane conservatives like Voight
3) Polanski admitted guilt and then fled; I do not believe there's any statute of limitations on that particular offense, so of course he should go to jail. He shouldn't get a pass because he's some "great artist;" I saw "Check Out This Little Girl I'm Fuckin'" I mean, "Tess," and it was a stupid, boring piece of shit. In fact the only film he ever touched that was worth a fuck was "Chinatown" and that was carried by Nicholson.
THAT SAID! The woman in question is 45 years old and has said the whole fucking emotional nightmare gets dragged out anytime anyone mentions this in the media and she's fucking sick of it and wants it to be over. Yes, she doesn't really get a vote in this since it's a legal matter. But I feel it should be considered as well.

Or if he'd stolen Oscar or something?
