Public polls are just reflections of what's been on the news for the last week, case in point: previous polls prior to the town hall stupid riots showed Americans solidly for the public option. Republicans hijack the message, you'll get poll figures like this. The only poll Obama cares about was the one in Nov of last year. And 2012 :-) Republicans don't fare well on Gallup in any particularly shining fashion either right now and since I pointed out that Obama's base is solidly behind him, this blip doesn't matter.
Polls down, Republicans hijacked the message, and you still think the town halls riots were stupid. That's really good. I can only hope the rest of your lot share this opinion. Unfortunately, some progressives are less blind (http://www.salon.com/opinion/paglia/2009/09/09/healthcare/).
This debating technique looked rather appealing to me when I was in kindergarten. It kind of lost its attractiveness since I got acquainted with, er, less obvious tactics. You, though, seem to value it pretty high. No surprise: most of progressives are understandably very childish.
